The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of electrical systems, substations, inverters, transformers, and associated infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- ✓Install, commission, inspect, and maintain electrical systems within solar farm projects.
- ✓Perform fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on electrical equipment.
- ✓Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- ✓Inspect and test LV and MV electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, and inverters.
- ✓Support commissioning activities for new solar farm installations.
- ✓Review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- ✓Ensure compliance with BS7671, HSE regulations, and industry standards.
- ✓Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
- ✓Respond to electrical faults and emergency breakdowns.
- ✓Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and operational teams.
- ✓Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
- ✓Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Requirements
- ✓Degree, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- ✓Previous experience working on solar farms, renewable energy projects, power generation, or electrical infrastructure projects.
- ✓Strong understanding of LV and MV electrical systems.
- ✓Experience with solar inverters, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
- ✓Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical schematics.
- ✓Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- ✓Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- ✓Experience working within strict health and safety environments.
- ✓Full UK driving licence.
- ✓Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- ✓Right to work in the United Kingdom.
