About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to join a busy shipbuilding and marine engineering team in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining piping systems used in marine vessels and industrial environments, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and fit marine and industrial piping systems according to technical drawings and specifications
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping diagrams
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and align pipes for accurate installation
  • Install and fit pipes, valves, pumps, flanges, supports, and associated components
  • Carry out pipe routing and ensure correct alignment and positioning
  • Perform testing and inspections to ensure systems are leak-free and functioning correctly
  • Work alongside welders, hull fitters, engineers, and fabrication teams
  • Use hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and measuring instruments safely
  • Support installation, repair, and maintenance of fuel, hydraulic, water, air, cooling, and other piping systems
  • Follow all health & safety procedures in shipyard or industrial environments
  • Ensure work is completed to required quality and project deadlines

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of pipe fitting experience in shipbuilding, marine, oil & gas, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, or other industrial piping materials
  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, piping diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Experience installing and fitting industrial or marine piping systems
  • Strong knowledge of pipe measurements, alignment, routing, and flange assembly
  • Experience using cutting, threading, bending, grinding, and measuring tools
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations in industrial or shipyard settings
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Basic English communication skills preferred
  • Relevant trade qualifications or pipe fitting certifications preferred
